How to log in to Uphold on the web

A friendly, step-by-step walkthrough plus tips and troubleshooting so you can access your account quickly and securely.

1 — Open the Uphold website

Open your preferred web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). In the address bar type uphold.com and press Enter. For security, make sure the page shows a lock icon in the address bar and the address begins with https://.

2 — Click “Sign in” (or “Log in”)

On the Uphold homepage, find the Sign in or Log in button — usually in the top right. Click it to open the sign-in form. If the site offers single sign-on (Google, Apple, or another provider), you can use those buttons to sign in with that account instead of entering an email and password.

3 — Enter your email and password

Type the email address associated with your Uphold account and enter your password. Use the “show” icon (an eye) if you want to verify the characters you typed. If you forget your password, choose Forgot password? to receive a reset link by email.

4 — Complete verification (if required)

Many accounts will require an additional verification step such as a code sent to your phone by SMS or a code from an authenticator app. Enter the code exactly as shown. If you have set up biometric or device-based sign-in, follow the on-screen prompts to approve the login.

5 — You're in — secure your session

Once authenticated, you will arrive at your Uphold dashboard. If you're on a private device you can select “Remember this device” (if offered) to reduce friction next time. If you are using a public or shared computer, avoid saving the password, and sign out when finished.

Pro tip: Use a password manager to generate and store a strong unique password. It makes sign-in faster and far more secure than reusing passwords across sites.

Common security & verification notes

Uphold, like many financial services, often requires multi-factor authentication (MFA). That might include SMS, email, or an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or an SMS fallback. If you rely on an authenticator app, keep backup recovery codes somewhere safe.

If you have trouble signing in

Try these troubleshooting actions first:

  • Confirm your email address has no typos.
  • Use the Forgot password? flow to reset a lost password.
  • Check your spam or junk folder for password reset emails.
  • Ensure your phone has signal if you expect an SMS verification code.
  • Check the time on your authenticator device — if it’s out of sync it may generate invalid codes; correcting system time usually fixes this.

When to contact support

If you suspect unauthorized activity, can’t access your email or phone (and thus can’t receive verification codes), or you cannot complete identity verification, contact Uphold support directly. Provide only the requested identity details through the official support channels — never share your password, full authentication codes, or private keys in support tickets or messages.

Quick FAQ

Q: I didn’t receive the verification code. What should I do?
A: Wait a minute, check signal and spam folders, then request a new code. If it still fails, try switching to another verification method if available.
Q: Can I sign in with Google or Apple?
A: If you linked an external account during signup, you can use that provider’s button to sign in quickly — it avoids entering a separate Uphold password.
Q: Is it safe to save my device?
A: Only save trusted personal devices. Never save sign-in on public or shared devices.
Q: How do I sign out?
A: Click your profile icon in the top-right and choose Sign out or Log out. Confirm the action if prompted.
